Quality Manager - Residential Aged Care (Multi-Site Position , based in North Melbourne)

This is a strategic leadership opportunity at a critical time in aged care reform.
With the implementation of the Strengthened Aged Care Quality Standards and upcoming re-accreditation cycles, our client is seeking a highly experienced Quality Manager with deep, practical expertise in residential aged care compliance, governance, and accreditation readiness.
You will be the organisation’s subject matter expert - guiding four facilities through regulatory reform, strengthening governance frameworks, and embedding sustainable quality systems that stand up to scrutiny.
Reporting to the executive team, you will take full ownership of the quality and compliance portfolio across four residential aged care homes. Your responsibilities will include:
Leading organisation-wide readiness for accreditation under the Strengthened Aged Care Standards
Conducting comprehensive internal audits and gap analyses aligned to legislative requirements
Translating regulatory updates into operational systems and measurable action plans
Driving continuous quality improvement initiatives with clear KPIs
Strengthening clinical governance and risk management frameworks
Preparing and presenting detailed quality and compliance reports to Board and senior leadership
Leading responses to audit findings, regulatory reviews, and improvement notices
Embedding a proactive compliance culture across all sites
This is a visible, high-impact role requiring strong regulatory knowledge, executive presence, and the ability to influence at all levels.
To be considered, you must demonstrate:
Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
Minimum 5+ years’ experience in residential aged care in a quality, compliance, governance, or senior leadership capacity
Proven experience leading successful accreditation cycles within Australian residential aged care
Expert knowledge of the Strengthened Aged Care Quality Standards, Quality Indicators Program, and aged care governance frameworks
Strong understanding of current aged care legislation, policies, and regulatory requirements
Demonstrated experience conducting structured internal audits and implementing measurable improvement initiatives
Experience presenting at Board, Clinical Governance, Food Focus, and leadership meetings
Ability to lead and support teams through significant regulatory and cultural change
Flexibility to travel regularly between metropolitan and regional Victorian facilities
You have personally led accreditation outcomes, built governance frameworks, improved audit performance, and coached operational leaders to lift standards sustainably. You are confident engaging with regulators, influencing Service Managers, and holding teams accountable while maintaining a supportive leadership style.
